Towson Manor Park, a neighborhood pocket park funded at least in part by Maryland Program Open Space Project, is the only open green space in our community. Kids play on the playground, there are fields to run around in, and it is a gathering place for the neighbors, many of whom sacrificed to make the park a reality.

I bought into East Towson because of the gorgeous Victorian homes(gone). Lovely trees(gone). My daughter and I enjoy this park on a daily basis. This park is priceless. Leave it alone please. Otherwise I will initiate litigation. I have been successful in the past preserving public, green space before. I shall not hesitate to do so again.

This is a verdant green space which needs to be preserved.Did you not make enough from that garish development? That fire station is fine. Greed is ugly.

East Towson needs this area to stay green

Nelson Coleman Jewelers agrees with the Greater Towon Council of Communities in their opposition to moving the Towson Fire Station to the current location of Community Park at Towsontown Blvd at Virginia Ave. The current location or a similiar location in a more commercial area would be a much more suitable choice and avoid the impact of reducing green space available to our surrounding residential communities. We also think this Park location is less accessable to some neighborhoods the Towson Fire Station serves and will ultimately result in even more loss of green space as the obvious needs for better road access for emergency vehicles reveals itself. We recommend that some effort be devoted to exploring spaces adjacent to the Towson University, Sheppard Pratt, St. Josephs Hospitals be explored to accomplish this move.
