The Gentry Wilderness Drive Thru Zoo is a favorite past time of so many families here in NW Arkansas! The drive is beautiful and they have such a variety of animals visible up close. This condemnation would shut down 1/4 of the safari drive. All animals within this area will be displaced from the area. Please urge AEP to move their planned placement of the power lines elsewhere!

Please contact SWEPCO's President, Venita McCellan-Allen at 318-673-3399 to ask that the lines be moved out of the Safari!

Hi Folks, Please like the new Facebook page I have started to keep you more updated: https://www.facebook.com/SaveTheGentrySafari4 The final condemnation hearing is Oct 16th. SWEPCO and AEP Presidents need to hear how you feel about this project! Please call SWEPCO's President, Venita McCellon-Allen, at 318-673-3399. Also here is AEP's President, Nick Akins', email: nakins@aep.com. SWEPCO's application for the powerline route never made ANY mention of the Safari. NO ONE has ever been to visit the Safari- they do not care about the Safari animals and they do NOT care about Arkansas!
On a happier note, I took my 2 year old Aubrey to the safari on Saturday. We pulled up to the front gate and her first words were "wow" and "woo hoo"! The picture above is her interacting with a calf. You can see the pure joy on her face; she begged to go back on Sunday. I WILL NOT sit back & watch the powerlines go up and shut down part of the Safari!

    3. KNWA to send reporter out to the Safari tomorrow.

      Hi guys!
I wanted to let you know that KNWA will be sending a reporter out to the Safari tomorrow to interview Leon- the Safari owner, as well as Luis Contreras from SaveTheOzarks.org. This is great news with the condemnation hearing coming up Sept 16! More media attention just helps the case for the Safari. Thanks again to everyone for your support- YOU are helping change the outcome of this condemnation!

Save The Ozarks has been doing a lot of ground work to help Leon at the Safari get this project overturned. We have gotten A LOT of attention- so make sure to keep passing on the petition! I'm sure AEP is not liking the attention we are bringing to this project they were trying to sneak in!
Please also make sure to sign the Save The Ozarks petition- as they are protesting the larger project that would run lines all over the Ozarks- to provide MISSOURI with more power! Why would we want our beautiful Ozarks marred to save AEP $$ to provide another state with power?!

      Hi All-
This section of power lines through Gentry is part of a much bigger project that will affect a lot of attractions in the Ozarks. Please also sign the Save the Ozarks petition-

I am from north east Arkansas and found the Gentry zoo accidently. I have been back 3 times with my kids and grandkids! It is worth the 6 hour drive! I look forward to going again and again!
