The fast food workers who are on strike across our nation are calling to us.
It is time for a new March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. This time as workers by workers. Rich Trumka, are you listening? We can get 1 million people on the Mall in DC. A new march can re-ignite and restore the narrative of economic solidarity, put into the forefront of our minds the issues of labor and capital, and demand our government play an active and affirmative role in promoting economic security for all, including restoring the industrial sector of our nation. Our two mantras should be:
"Build what we buy, buy what we build."
"Share the profits, grow our economy."
Each is as important as the other. Together they form the way we must think and act together.
