"EVERY THREE MINUTES AN INDIAN DIES DUE TO A ROAD ACCIDENT"

             I am Haresh from Ayanavaram, TN. I am a college student. I had met with an accident yesterday , June 4th 2019 ,at the 5th Ave main road (Near Saravana Bhavan). I luckily escaped from suffering any fatalities.   

    The whole stretch of the 5th Ave main road is damaged. It was dug up last year to lay new pipelines for water supply to nearby areas.The metro water department has not issued an NOC to the Corporation (Zone 8) for the relaying of the damaged 600m stretch on the 5th Ave main road , so the latter has not taken steps to restore the road properly.Moreover the Corporation says that the restoration has not been possible because of lack of funds.       The reason for the accident is the improper roads which have been that way for months together now. The construction worker from a nearby site who rushed to help me , had told that I was the tenth person who had suffered this kind of accident. I quote from his words, " This has been repeatedly happening and I have been helping people meeting with this similar kind of accident. The government is totally blind to this issue."

      This is a heartfelt statement from a citizen of the country.Even if this petition doesn't solve the issue , it's understandable , regrettably. But I hope this sheds light to people who read this petition, on the importance about safeguarding ourselves on roads and that the rider's safety shouldn't be taken for granted by the concerned authorities.
