The purpose of this petition is to notify ZETDC of the intermittent delivery of ZESA electricity in a portion of Woodlands suburb in Gweru, Zimbabwe. The issue is, why is only a small portion of a community affected? The inequity of the distribution and why it is not being addressed has become a major source of concern.

 This problem has been ongoing for over 2 years with no permanent solution in sight. In a population of at least ten thousand people, about 200 households are affected, having over 3000 individuals. The agony of seeing one area with lights turned on, in the same surviving while the other does not has become personal.

Unfulfilled pledges by the local ZESA administration have raised concerns among locals. Many people's routines have been interrupted by a minimum of two days without power. In the middle of the epidemic, online lessons have been disrupted, perishable products have gone bad, and criminals have taken advantage of the lack of electricity.

We anticipate ZETDC, as the sole responsible authority in delivering zesa, to address this issue as soon as possible.
