We have pet friendly beaches throughout the world. Cape Town as a popular tourist attraction - to ban all domestic animals and dogs from all beaches sends a negative message to all pet lovers including tourists who travel with their pets. I disagree that  domestic animals and dogs should be banned from all the Cape beaches !!! - because of hygiene, safety hazard, nuisance and environmental risks. Surely humans pollute the beaches more than any pet could ever do so. One of glaring examples, look at the plastic stock pile on our beaches. I reckon the City of Cape Town is barking up the wrong tree, pardon the pun.  I suggest that the City of Cape Town reconsiders their decision and rather provides the public with designated, clearly marked pet friendly beach areas with strict rules and regulations to manage these areas.
