Please help the principal help us! Miss Waller has taken the necessary steps to prevent more violence happenening to her students by temporarily suspending lunchtime release of the students due to the recent occurrences. We greatly appreciate that because it’s a statewide right that’s given to the students; however, everyday Snyder highschool releases its students to roam freely in the dangerous streets surrounding the school is another day of worry for both teachers and parents. I pay close attention to the many occurrences in this neighborhood and many of them are being done by 16 and 17 year old gang members. Just last week a Snyder student was murdered right around the corner and after the death they took pictures of the body and posted it on social media laughing at him. It’s disgusting that the parents are allowing these kids to run wild and lost in the streets but it’s a reality and we should at least know our children are safe at school. Allowing them to continue leaving during lunch breaks I’m certain it will be more senseless violence because there is a current war between sets of 16 and seventeen year olds that want revenge and I’m sure it’s coming. Staying in school at least affords a piece of mind and safety right now.
