Becky Metzler started this petition to Yuma Colorado and

If you look at the long history of Yuma, Colorado, you will learn of its great history of our Native American Founders. In simple terms our small town was founded and established by the "Yuma Indians".

As a profound TRIBUTE to these great people our town is amply named Yuma, and our schools mascot is the Indians. In thanks and profound honor to the founders, We Are The Yuma Indians!!!!!

New laws and changes, that are welcomed and necessary, in most cases, to correct many injustices to our Native Americans. Yuma, Colorado is one of the few exceptions. We are proud, honored, and deeply vested to our founders, The Yuma Indians. We ask that we are allowed to keep our mascot and our profound "Tribe Pride".

Please join us, sign this petition, contact the school board, make your voice heard. Don't erase history, help us keep our Native American history alive!
