Above is one of the many shameless scam ads featuring on Youtube these days.

Over the last few years, scams and pornographic content have become prevalent in Youtube advertisments. This is not a rare occurrence, in particular with regard to scams. This is not a case of occasional anomalies, or harmful ads "slipping through the net". There is a clear trend that demonstrates a failure to detect and remove harmful advertisements. 

This issue has almost certainly resulted in some Youtube users experiencing financial losses, as well as children being exposed to pornographic content.

Users report being exposed to content which discriminates against minority groups, such as the LGBTQ+ community.

Google has a corporate responsiblity to protect users from such harmful content. Google has not fully acknowledged or apologized for this issue, and there is no indication that they regard it as an urgent problem to be solved.

We demand that Google publicly acknowledges the extent of this problem, and issues a public apology  along with a clear plan and commitment to resolve this problem going forward.
