Skoosh YT started this petition to YouTube

Imagine wanting to create something that will really affect people: something funny, beautiful, impressive, new--you finally take steps towards making it happen, only to be greeted with false copyright claims that can even land you in court.

My name is Jamie, also known as Skoosh on YouTube. I just started my channel, but today (as of January 4th) one of my favorite creators, Jameskii, is in trouble. For those of you who don't know, a company called "CollabRDM" claims to help "make the lives of Internet Creators easier" (from @Collab Twitter bio). However, this is exactly the opposite.

How does this apply to Jameskii? Well, Jameskii already has one copyright strike (not from Collab) which we all agree is somewhat fair and holds good ground. But, in Jameskii's "I GOT BANNED FROM TIKTOK" video where he explores the popular app TikTok, he received not one, not two, but FIVE CLAIMS on the video! Now, you'd hope the claims are somewhat reasonable, right? THREE of the five claims have no reason given. TWO of the five claims have a reason... What could it be? Oh yeah, "video clip" (quote from the ACTUAL COPYRIGHT STRIKE EMAIL). Soon, in six days from now, Jameskii will be receiving a second strike to his channel. One more, and... Poof! 1.4 million subscribers, years of hard work, millions of views, every comment he ever made and more would be gone. All it takes is one more false claim. Something I'd like to clarify is that these were not automated claims--these were manually-done claims. CollabRDM is also trying to take tweets down that mention this situation as we speak. This is real censorship, and it is happening right in front of our eyes.

How does this apply to you, me, other creators, and YouTube as a whole? Jameskii isn't the first creator for this to happen to, and he definitely won't be the last--of course, unless we speak out. If this continues happening, some of your biggest inspirations can be gone as quick as Thanos' snap. We cannot allow companies to falsely claim videos that follow all fair use copyright laws. It is also costing creators hundreds and maybe even thousands of dollars in revenue.

So, what can we do? Spread this video and ones like it: Jameskii's video on the situation. You can help him by sharing this video along with the hashtag #SaveJameskii. We can be heard. This petition is the first step.

YouTube isn't necessarily the problem--these companies are.
