Have YouTube Un-Restrict Queer Content

This petition had 52 supporters

YouTube has recently added LGBTQ+ content to it's "Child Safe/Restricted" mode setting, keeping children "safe" from queer content. This includes, but is not limited to coming-out videos, LGBT advice, and resources for LGBT youth. This seems to do two main things that the LGBTQ+ community is unhappy with:

a) Giving an impression that queer content can be just as bad to children as other things listed under the "Restricted" mode, such as sexually explicit and racist content.

b) Limiting the already small number of resources for closeted youth, or youths that are being abused because of being LGBT.

As you can see, YouTube needs to stop discriminating against the LGBTQ+  community. Please sign to help us get one step closer to having YouTube remove LGBT content from its "Restricted/Child Safe" mode.

If you do sign this petition, please share on social media and tag YouTube, as YouTube does not have a public support email address.
