YouTube is planning to remove Community Contributions on September 28. This will be a MAJOR blow to accessiblity.

Without Community Contributions, hard of hearing people, deaf people, and anyone with a foreign langauge, will be unable to access countless videos. Content creators who rely on their community to add captions to videos will no longer have that option.

YouTube cites low-usage as the reason to remove Community Contributions, and yet even I--a very small content creator--have had people add translated captions to many of my videos. Larger content creators have series with captions which wouldn't be there if it wasn't for their community.

Don't let YouTube make their platform fall to such an extreme degree of inaccessibility.
