Due to the sudden rise in Covid cases in Goa all lectures as well as semester end are held online. We students are equally prone to getting affected by the virus as compared to the others,. All the students are really stressed about the situation, most of us travel using public transport which becomes a problem, as we living with our families fear transmitting the virus to them. None of us can risk infecting any of our family members. I agree we are students but our health weighs the same as others and we can’t risk it. Fully vaccinated Students as well as teachers are being tested positive and it’s really difficult to study in such an environment where we don’t feel safe. Alot of students are falling ill these days. Protocols can be managed in classrooms but not beyond that because of public transport etc. Cases are rising drastically and we as students don’t feel safe. We have already lost enough people and these losses have already affected us enough mentally. We can’t afford putting ourselves and our loved ones at risk. Students hardly willingly attend classes offline. Exams are now a compulsion. Most of us tried adjusting and coming when cases had significantly decreased but not now when things have changed and covid is getting to its peak. And even if in such circumstances we give our exams, we won’t be able to give our best or show our true potential. We really need someone to understand and take action about it.
