Being born in Elmhurst queens this is the only place I call home. It's so sad to see that low funding is provided in schools, broken boards, outdated textbooks, and even old materials used. Most important of all is the quality of education AIm receives. For me and my neighborhood to receive good education working class parents who are most queens would have to pay thousands of dollars for a high-quality education which is something, we can afford. In queens, we need a higher quality education system so we could have a magnificent future. some may argue that we don't need high-quality education and it would be a waste of funding. However, without high-quality education, we wouldn't have a good future life or career. This is a formal request to provide equal funding to schools to provide high-quality education making it available to everyone. In Elmhurst Queens, high-quality education is affecting our future lives and careers. Currently, the education system requires you to pay thousands of dollars if you want a good education. Moreover, most queens are working class and can't pay that much for high-quality education. The article states “ For more than 90%of k-12 schools funding comes from states and local government … however funding has not increased with need many states are still issuing funding that is lower than it was before or funding means fewer teachers. fewer programs''(public school review 2022) This shows that most schools are running on funds which means when the government is not giving funds to the schools they can't afford teacher programs and school resources. This is important because the word “funding” is money provided by the government or us people through taxes to give back to education and without these funds, we wouldn't have a good education. Another Article states “According to citizens annual student lending survey 56% of college students and their parents expect their tuition to cost to increase by $8700 on average” (NBC 2021) In addition over half of the people that took the survey are expected their college loans to rise at a high rate in which they cant afford. This matters because the word “Tuition” means the cost families have to pay a certain amount of money every year. The situation can become an an=abundant amount of money which some people can't afford. To conclude Elmhurst Queens should be able to have high-quality education for a better future. We request that a fraction of the funds be set for a high-quality education to be set in the queen's budget to provide access to free high-quality education. Currently, there is $13,720.173 allocated to the department of education and unfortunately, many people in Queens do not have access to high-quality education due to a lack of income that barely covers the funds for high-quality education. For example, the text states “ The quality education in Germany is world-renowned for a reason allowing students to continue studying up to university regardless of finance” Basically Germany has a high-quality education that is available to everyone regardless of family income and family financial situation. This is significant because “finance aids the families earning and in Germany regardless of your family earnings you can still receive a high-quality education and is provided by equal findings from the German government. Another article states “the secondary education in Germany is sufficient enough to allow their students to aim confidently for university-level education and obtain a university entrance qualification after the final examination at the Gymnasium''(expiroto 2022) This shows that having high-quality education and good finds students can be less stressed free and be able to aim for their careers confidently. This highlights “aim confidently” and shows that Germany allows its students to be what they want to be in the future with no hesitation because of the financial situations of their families. In conclusion In Queens, we need to have a high-quality education like in Germany by making it available to everyone. To criteria, low funding for high-quality education in Elmhurst queens is affecting students' futures. A way to solve this issue the community would gladly appreciate more funding for high-quality education and make it cost less for others.
