Stop them from increasing ($300 per meeting to $600) their own pay again! This is supposed to be a Not-for-profit Cooperative. You can't even attend meetings! Support for Term Limits for Volunteer Energy Board/Directors. 

We the undersigned members of Volunteer Energy Cooperative hereby request the following Bylaw change under Article XIV bylaws Amendments Section 14.01 Power to amend and Section 14.02 procedure for amending 14.02 allowing members to change the cooperative bylaws. Accurate summary of the proposed change: Additional rules/wording added Article 4.03 Tenure to be voted on by the members at the Volunteer Energy annual meeting held at Meigs Middle School Decatur on October 1, 2022, during the business meeting, concerning the section labeled Section 4.03 Tenure: to include term limits for elected Directors/Board members of not more than (12) years or (3) terms. This amendment to section 4.03 Tenure shall only be changed by the members unless, as established by law such bylaw is illegal or has become a legal nullity. Any Director/Board member having served more than (12) years or (3) terms at the date of the amendment is adopted, will not be eligible to serve another term. Amendment shall be adopted within 30 days from the vote. Any special election resulting from the removal or resignation of any director/board member will take place within 120 days of removal or resignation following election rules defined in the bylaws.
