My Mum is making me move unnecessarily to a completely new house with her boyfriend of 6 months, who she is getting a mortgage with. Not only is that a ridiculously short amount of time to want to make a commitment like a mortgage, but if they split up, then God knows what will happen to me.

I have lived in my current house for almost 15 years and have grown up here - I live on a farm, and am very much attached to all of the farm animals and my surroundings - as well as the fact that my hamster is literally buried in my back garden. Not only that, but ever since my Dad moved out 10 years ago, it has only ever been my Mum and I living together. My Mum knows I get homesick and extremely anxious in new places, and yet we're still moving despite explaining all of this to her.

The only reason we're moving in the first place is because we rent our current house, and Mum wants to get a mortgage so that she doesn't "end up homeless after retirement" - may I also add that she is only 47 years old, and most people retire when they are 65 years of age or older. In only 3 years time, I will be 18 years old and will be packing my bags to go to college, and yet my Mum insists that she simply can't wait 3 more years.

A parent's priority should be their own child's happiness up until they are a fully grown adult, and yet she seems happy to put her and her boyfriend's own gain over my happiness. I have already expressed my discomfort and upsetness at the idea of moving house, and yet she is still set upon moving, and has even tried bribing me with a pet dog to make me cooperate, which is just plain insensitive and makes me think that she believes I am completely ignorant.

So please help me out you guys - anybody who signs this and gives their support is absolutely amazing, and I couldn't be more grateful. Thank you x
