My father's family came from Poland and settled in Atlantic Highlands, where my Dad, Thomas Kozak, was born, and continues to live. My parents (Tom & Mildred) raised their children there, and all four of us continue to come "home" to Atlantic Highlands whenever possible - even my two two sisters who only live in Navesink. Sandy Hook was, and still is, a place where each of us love to visit...our own piece of the Shore. We love listening to Dad tell of the history he recalls while growing up there. The Sandlass House is a vital part of any history of Sandy Hook. It tells a story that needs to be preserved!

Remembering the past may keep us from repeating the mistakes that caused this building to become what it has.
