Yorkville neighbors demanding noise mitigation for construction at 424 East 90th St
Why this petition matters
Many of our Yorkville neighbors have been complaining about the endless hydraulic jackhammers at the construction site on 424 East 90th Street. The hydraulic jackhammers start around 7 AM daily and go through 5 PM, often exceeding 80 db. Many of us work from home (and will continue to do so "post COIVD"), and this noise makes our jobs difficult and our homes unlivable. We are asking our elected officials to take real action to implement a noise mitigation plan for this site that includes measures such as limiting the hours of the noise and the use of sound barriers, and that long term the city implements legislation to make such noise mitigation mandatory so that construction can continue throughout our city while not disrupting our quality of life.
