York Universities' intramural system provides students with the opportunity to participate in competitive or recreational sports amongst each other. In the Fall semester, Athletics and Recreation offer outdoor soccer leagues where colleges put teams against each other and play against each other. This league is “open” meaning anyone from any gender can participate without any restrictions. Hundreds of people play it and enjoy it every week. In the Winter semester, Futsal is offered.

However, this league is co-ed - meaning at least 2 from each gender must be present on the field at all times, or else they default forfeit). As we’re fully aware, there are significantly more male participants than there are females in this sport.
