LISA Smith started this petition to York County Council District 2 and

Please vote Yes to Deny rezoning for 149 homes!!!

Here is the info from Allison Love-

If you were at the well attended community meeting early last year about the property just past WalMart headed toward Gastonia... and if you weren't...
Here is an update on The Vistas At Lake Wylie.
Following the big public meeting, I met a couple more times, once with the property owner and once with a fellow council member and the 2 developers, I did not feel a 2nd public meeting was necessary because they told me they had made all the changes based on input they were willing to make. They held another meeting anyway. The result of that meetings is they now say the 30 something people that attended are in favor of their plan for 149 homes. If this is the case, I would like to hear from a few of those in favor...
of 149 homes vs 89 already approved.

The Vistas at Lake Wylie went before the planning commission in January with a plan of 89 homes. This plan was approved because it is what our zoning allows.

They are coming back with a plan for 149 homes. This affects everyone traveling Pole Branch, 274, Hwys 557, 274 and obviously 49. Construction of the Pennies Project will coincide with their development. The impact is high in my opinion.
As you can see on the map attached...this property is from Mill Creek (to left past bridge after you pass walmart) to the intersection of Pole Branch and 274.

Their "plan B" has been approved but their ultimate goal is higher density on this waterfront property.

This will be the 3rd (maybe4th) time this property has come before council as a rezoning request.

Because we as County Council want to hear from our constituents, the first step on a rezoning request is a public hearing.

I feel it is IMPERATIVE that you attend this public hearing !!! You can speak for or against the rezoning and this is the ONLY opportunity to do so. If you do not want to speak, just be there and I will ask for a show of hands "for" and "against".

The developer will speak (and most likely several othersl) in favor of their proposed plan.

The hearing is Monday March 4th at 6pm in our beautiful new admin building at 6 South Congress Street. York, SC. This will be an active night for our area and I would love for you to remain after the public hearing :)

PS. Developer is following this page so if you have any comments that you would like only me see...please send to me as a PM.
