Hi Neighbors! 

As a member of the community and resident of Wheatlands, I have been very pleased to see that after years of talk the Wheatlands YMCA has been built and has been running since mid-May. As the Rec center and HOA is currently making plans for phase two of the building, I believe a sauna would be a great addition. Unfortunately, there is no current plan to expand the pool area to create a sauna. To my knowledge, every other YMCA I have been to in and outside of Colorado has a sauna.

This petition's goal is to get the YMCA at Wheatlands to create and open the saunas 

The health benefits of going to the saunas include improved blood circulation, sweating, an immune system boost, toned-up muscles, relief from sleeping disorders, mental agility, and much more. The advantages of sitting in a sauna room go far beyond the leisure and beauty offered by participating in this activity. It has a strong impact on the health and the general well-being of any individual.

while there are currently concerns around the spread of Covid-19, this would not be an issue as several studies have suggested the virus has difficulty spreading in temperatures above 149 degrees Fahrenheit. The average sauna temperature is between 150-175 degrees Fahrenheit.
