Yemen Humanitarian Crisis
Yemen Humanitarian Crisis
Why this petition matters

The Yemen Humanitarian Crisis is the biggest humanitarian crisis in the world, with almost 3/4 of the population (23.4 million people) requiring aid. Unfortunately, many people aren't aware that many Yemini's rights are being taken away, such as their rights to freedom. The humanitarian aid the UK provides, helps those to survive, however their efforts are also detrimental the crisis in hand. For example, the UK has provided £1 billion in aid to Yemen, yet has licensed £6.5 billion worth of arms to the countries bombing it. Therefore, we should raise awareness to this humanitarian crisis, so Yemenis receive the help they deserve. In addition, 17.8 million people in Yemen lack access to safe water and good sanitation, so not only is there a war, but a health decline too. However, they lack money for viable resources and materials and therefore they have to make sacrifices to survive, like skipping meals. Ultimately, this has left over 2 million children and 1.2 million pregnant or breastfeeding women, suffering from malnutrition. The UN food agency states that 13 million Yemenis may face starvation, due to a protracted civil conflict and lack of humanitarian aid. That is nearly a quarter of England's population suffering.
How can we help?
By signing this petition we can raise awareness for the Yemen Humanitarian Crisis and hopefully our local MP will discuss how the UK can make a bigger difference in helping those Yemenis, living in a war-torn country. By signing this petition, we can also gain recognition to this crisis, educating people and maybe inspire them to fundraise or help donate sanitary products/medical supplies/food to those in need.
Here is how the British Red Cross is aiming to help the Yemen Humanitarian Crisis:
