Creating a safe space for cyclists between the too-busy-for-bikes spaces of Smith and Hoddle is critical

Safe cycling infrastructure is essential to get more people cycling. This is a very busy route and any improvements to rider safety. It will make using Wellington St more efficient for everyone.

Primarily due to the fact that Wellington St is an ideal cycling link between Alexander Pde and Victoria Pde as compared with Hoddle St, Smith St or Brunswick St where the mix of pedestrian and car use can be dangerous for cyclists.

A someone who regularly cycle in the city and Collingwood I am constantly in fear of traffic and car doors.
Ultimately the only answer to traffic congestion is to have fewer cars, and separate bicycle lanes offer the best, most cost effective incentive to fewer car journeys.

Spend less on freeways and more on automotive alternatives

I am a cyclist and believe that cycle rage is getting worse in Melbourne the more cyclists there are on the road the greater this problem will be.

As a cyclist who has been "doored "several times, I will feel much safer cycling down this style path.

I am worried about the traffic situation in Melbourne and see a part solution in this. More bikes, less traffic!
