PETITION FOR AMENDMENT OF SOME SECTIONS OF THE CONSTITUTION OF YALI RLC ALUMNI ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA DATED 22ND OF NOVEMBER, 2021.

We wish to bring this petition seeking an Amendment of the Following Provisions:

ARTICLE 20 (20.6) which Reads:
To qualify to run for office into the National Executive Council - as a National Officer or Regional Coordinator, a Member should have served as a Regional Executive and must have completed his/her exchange program in not less than one year, (and for the position of President Two Years) prior to the day of the election.

ARTICLE 20 (20.7) reads:
To qualify to run for office as a Regional Executive, a Member must have completed his/her exchange program not less than one year prior to the day of the election.

The proposed amendment sought is to Delete the Entire Paragraph just mentioned above.

Reason: this will disqualify well-meaning members from Contesting who would otherwise be given an opportunity if not for these provisions.
