Amidst the present MCO that was enforced in Malaysia on 17 March, many Residents with long term visas have got stranded in various parts of the world and separated from their families who remain in Malaysia. Many such people are knowledge workers and economic migrants that contribute significantly to the country.
We understand the efforts of Government of Malaysia to evacuate the Malaysian citizens, and now would urge the Government to consider the case of such stranded Residents to re-enter Malaysia and to be reunited with their families. We request the Government to permit the entry of such long-term residents on humanitarian grounds. We are willing to bear full cost of travel, testing and quarantine and further, would assure full compliance to all the current restrictions on movement & social gathering.
We urge the government to consider this petition, and request to make an allowance for all Malaysian Residents with long term pass holders to return to their homes in Malaysia.
