As Malaysia, Singapore had confirmed locally transmitted cases of coronavirus, we are no longer safe anymore! People even without recent travel history to Mainland China may be infected and be the carrier of the virus. To ensure our own health and avoid unnecessary exposure to such risk, we suggest that the university may consider to digitize short semester courses - that is students may choose to STAY AT HOME and STUDY the courses VIA ONLINE PLATFORM!!!

The reasons are below:

1. The fact that the university allows China students to study online. Since the IT department is already developing the online platform, why we as a XMUM student don't have the rights to choose whether or not to study online?

2. For most students, short semester courses are not major courses. They may be general elective (GE) or MPU courses. Therefore, it may be feasible to digitize the short semester courses and allow students to study online.

3. The university has announced the policy that China students shall not return to the university until further notice. How about staffs, lecturers, stalls operators, and workers from China? Are the measures taken sufficient to protect them and all of other XMUM students.
