Around the start of December there was an alleged hack at AlphaEx that affected the hot storage wallet used to hold XDCE. On the 21st of December i purchased a large quantity of XDCE using a DEX unaware to the fact there had been a hack and that in purchasing the tokens, I would then be made to be left out of pocket by AlphaEx as instead of refunding customers we have been forced to either withdraw our XDCE and sell them at a fraction of the price whilst also having to pay extortionately high gas fees in order to swap them. Our other option being to take a swap ratio of XDCE:XDC up to as little as 10:1 (My offered rate given the date i purchased was the 21st) which quite frankly is an insult to both myself and the other investors who decided to unknowingly purchase the coins after the hack. With various other exchanges they will often return the money to investors and will not jeopardise the future of the token by forcing investors to take a loss on their positions. As someone who has not only spread the good work of XinFin and the work they do in the cryptocurrency space I am beyond shocked at the fact there has been little to no communication from XinFin themselves. Not to mention the fact that the hack was not advertised on the XinFin Webpage, The XDC CoinMarketCap listing nor the AlphaEx Exchange where the hack happened.

Had i been the sole investor when i bought these tokens i may not feel so aggrieved however i also invested on behalf of my pregnant partner with a view to any profits going directly towards our childs future. My mother also invested as an alternative to leaving her money in the bank where the value is less due to the tough year it has been and with a view to restarting a savings balance for my younger sister. So to say the least this has harmed not just myself but other indirect investors as well as the other direct investors around the world who are also in the same position as myself.

I as one of the investors who has been harmed by this, ask that XinFin either take an official position on this matter and open dialogue with the investors with the possibility of remunerative measures.
