Save the Chinese Crocodile Lizard

Save the Chinese Crocodile Lizard
The Chinese Crocodile Lizard has been hunted brutally in the countries China and Vietnam. Because it lives and hunts during the daytime, and sleeps during the night (like humans) many believe that killing this lizard and turning its body parts into medicine will cure insomnia. In the Chinese Crocodile Lizard's home countries, it has become a major problem outside of its safe areas. This lizard has also experienced the dramatic effects of deforestation, and illegal logging and mining. Exessive illegal mining is dangerous for many other reptiles and amphibians too, because most of them are not able to dodge major machinery and hence are crushed. Displacement of habitat from mining and logging is also serious because it affects the nesting and breeding grounds of this species. These two causes have dropped the lizard's population down to only around 950 wild individuals! Signing this petition will raise awareness on the endangerment of the Chinese Crocodile Lizard.
