Stop Placing Kids in Abusive Programs!

Wyoming's Department of Family Services and Department of Education are placing children in private fraudulent and abusive programs paid for with public monies. We are calling on the State of Wyoming to:
1. Stop all out of state placements of Wyoming children and youth. Right now, Wyoming is placing children in Benchmark Behavioral Health Systems in Utah, The National Deaf Academy in Florida, the notoriously abusive Provo Canyon School in Utah, and many others on human rights watch-lists such as those listed at www.heal-online.org/thelist.htm. 2. Mandate licensing and regulation of any and all residential and wilderness (out-of-home) youth programs and facilities and close down Mount Carmel Youth Ranch aka Triangle Cross Ranch aka Bear Tooth Mountain Ascent and its sister facility Trinity Teen Solutions.
3. Outlaw the use of Aversive Therapies on minors.
4. Remove exemptions from regulation for faith-based residential service providers.
Institutionalized abuse is a national crisis and State governments should not be placing kids in abusive programs nor sending them out of state where no real oversight can be provided to protect the child's interest and safety.
Wyoming must begin acting responsibly and must be held accountable for placing Wyoming children in abusive programs. No more tax dollars for child exploitation and abuse!
