Say No to building 7 double storey house in two dwelling lots
Why this petition matters
Say "NO" to building 7 double-story homes on 1 & 3 Nagle Drive, Point Cook (Corner of Liverpool street and Nagle Drive).
Planning permission is being processed in Wyndham council for the same: https://eproperty.wyndham.vic.gov.au/ePropertyPROD/P1/eTrack/eTrackApplicationDetails.aspx?ApplicationId=WYP12339%2F20&f=%24P1.ETR.APPDET.VIW&r=P1.WEBGUEST
1. Safety Hazards & Traffic Congestion
Nagle Drive is a quiet, narrow drive. There is a children's play area, sitting places for residents to relax & socialize, and walking paths for recreational purposes. The proposed 7 double-story building in an area of 892 m2 would bring in 12 to 14 vehicles entering the small plot daily and this would be detrimental to the kids and families utilizing it for recreation purposes as the road is narrow and the amount of traffic would impact surrounding safety. Residents and visitors parking around the narrow road will increase traffic congestion while entering the estate and also lead to the risk of accidents.
2. Neighbourhood Character and social fabric
The majority of residents around the area have made a concerted effort to get to know their neighbors' by visiting the park, walking paths, and children's play area. The park has given a great opportunity to welcome neighbors and get to know the new residents of the area, and also to catch up at leisure with existing residents. 7 double-story houses just across the narrow road overlooking the play area and park will completely put off residents willing to come and spend time on the recreational park. The UPC residents were subjected to strict design guidelines to maintain the Neighborhood character and appeal of the estate However this development seems to negatively impact the character of the neighborhood.
Building small boxes of 7 houses in an area of 892 m2 without adequate space has the potential to bring hazards and negatively affect the character and community of our area and its residents.
