My partner is a trained nurse, a chiropodist and a reflexologist. She has been providing her services to the Oncology unit at our local Nuffield hospital for some years now.

With COVID-19 now increasing the demand for health service staff to be available (possibly without extra pay) she has been into the hospital on several occasions over the past few weeks and used a local car park near the hospital to expedite her journey.

Unbeknownst to her www.totalparking.co.uk seem to have installed a camera at that car park, and it seems they have done that in the recent past - possibly since we all knew about COVID-19 being a serious issue.

She had a Parking Charge Notice (PCN) issued to her from www.totalparking.co.uk about a week ago for a parking infringement in early March 2020. She has now just received a second PCN from the same company at the same car park. She received that early April 2020, this at a time when the whole country is in lockdown and the government and others are calling out for as many key workers to make themselves available at this critical time.

I can understand that parking enforcement may ease congestion during normal times but it seems more than coincidental that the camera and the enforcement of the rules by www.totalparking.co.uk has been stepped up at this critical time. A time when surely all of us should be trying our best to help each other in any way we can.

I therefore call upon www.totalparking.co.uk and other similar companies involved in this type of business to cease issuing PCNs at this critical time. By the very definition by the UK government this lockdown will mean that there will not be any over-crowding of car parks, lack of car parking spaces nor any congestion as a result of poor parking during this COVID-19 lockdown since most of the country is not driving anywhere anytime soon!

Please support this petition so that all key workers can park feely where ever they might need to in order to carry out their duties and possibly save lives during the COVID-19 lockdown.
