At least 30 million people of all ages and genders suffer from an eating disorder in the U.S.

On Aug. 13, WW rolled out Kurbo, a nutrition and weight-loss app for kids as young as 8, and up to 17. Eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any mental illness, every 62 minutes at least one person dies as a direct result from an eating disorder. This app will literally kill people.

According to doctors, adolescence is a critical period of development and a window of vulnerability during which eating disorders can develop. Pediatric eating dirorders are more common than type 2 diabetes. In 2016, the American Academy of Pediatrics advised doctors and families to steer clear of weight talk, and instead focus on emphasizing healthy lifestyles.

WW the decision to launch this app is dangerous, irresponsible and immoral. It is time for you to put human lives over profit. You must pull this app and save thousands of children from developing and supporting life altering eating disorders that will eventually kill some of them.
