My child is the one who died by suicide. She feared her future of living in constant ridicule, we loved her, she was a computer geek, but feared leaving her apartment for the way people treated her or talked about her.

It is outrageous that TN state senator Mike Bell treated his young constituents shabbily then pressured UTC to fire a young WUTC reporter who was merely doing her job. Bell needs to be sanctioned or recalled. Helbert must be reinstated. Shameful, possibly unconstitutional behavior by the State Senator and the University.

It is completely unacceptable for a state legislator to bully a group of visiting students to tears and then bully my local college's public radio station into firing the reporter whose report made clear that he was an ignorant, arrogant bully.

WUTC should not have been so easily influenced to fire the reporter but rather should improve the training and protocols for reporters.

I'm signing because NPR is my favorite station for news. I feel they are unbiased and their articles and news are based upon fact and they're not biased toward one party or the other.
