Petition to Continental Football Club -June 2018 Petition for Continental Football Club to reinstate Skip Thorp as Technical Director, Bryan Thorp as US Development Academy Director and Coach, and Sean Pearson as US Development Academy Coach (2004 and 2005 teams).

Pursuant to the Board’s action on Sunday, June10, 2018 to terminate these valued individuals, with no public explanation provided and no apparent justification, the undersigned members, interested partiesand customers of the organization/Club, formally request that this action be immediately reversed, with the aforesaid individuals reinstated to the professional roles held immediately prior to the terminations, in order to restore the stability, expertise and expectation of leadership held as condition of our commitment.

On Sunday, June 10 Continental FC Delco/ Spirit United made the decision to terminate without cause the employment of Sean Pearson, Skip Thorp and Bryan Thorp.

The decision carries an air of illegitimacy.  All parties received their annual Review in March/ April receiving positive responses along with a bonus for their efforts and progress.  No information nor meetings conducted, identified any disciplinary issues nor poor performance.

As a player, I would like to see Coach Sean, Coach Skip and Coach Bryan receive their appropriate due process.  This will happen if we can achieve 200+ signatures.

I can attest how much they have assisted me in my life on and off the field.  I find their termination after one-year of service to be deplorable.  Any sports person can appreciate the efforts and obstacle behind changing a program.  It takes time for change, especially after inheriting a program that was on the decline.  I have been a part of Continental FC Delco and the DA Program since the age of 14.  I can truly say that prior to their arrival, the program was slowly in decline.  At no point has the DA Program garnered national recognition nor a playoff spot.  Since their arrival, the program is moving closer in that direction.  Their methods to hold players accountable for their performance is what has led to their prior success at other programs.
