I have been renting with Gold- Mark management inc since july of 2021. My lease will be over august 2022. Since the day I step my foot into this house, my life been about bills and warning from previous tenants and current tenants. “ be care with Gold-Mark, they very good at messing people up”. once Before I too use to defend them. trying to see both side of the story. Because there’s always three sides of all stories. theirs Gold-Mark side, tenants side, then the truth. Well God always say be careful what you say and who you backing. My problems started with Gold-Mark management starting about late December of 2021, if not mistaken early January of 2022. Before this special event let me remind you, I have always been ahead of my rent ( I got paperwork to prove). One given winter night, I was heading to work. Usual I sleep in all day and head to work at night, I use to work night shift with John Deere. While walking out, I open the door of the outside stairs, slip and skip a whole flights of stairs. While in the moment God is great I managed to react quick and flip my body on my rib cage and the side of my back instead of my neck. I try to wake up again I was right back on my butt/ back.  Embarrassing and painful as well, in a negative degree weather. Thank God it was late and no one was there to witness my trauma, embarrassment and pain. When I finally got a grip of myself, I grab my phone took pictures of the icy stairs, plus parking lot. Then I call the Gold-Mark office. No response, so I left a message. force my way to work while  in pain, I don’t want to lose my job plus the rent and bills got to be pay. When I got to work, dude to my noticeable movement and pain, I was ask to leave if I wanted to. Next day, no calls or text regarding that matters From Gold-Mark. If God was not with me, my quick reaction, God forbid I would have broken my neck in that cold. With no one to help or call for help. I have three girls children that love me. what will their mom tell them, if I would have gotten killed that day, God forbids.  So I walk to the sit office where our complex is located, I ask if she seen or heard my messages, she said no. However she ask me to report exactly what happen and she was going to hand it to the higher ups. Couple weeks later I got a letter from Gold-Mark stating through their investigation they was not in the wrong doing, it is my fault and my responsibility. Before I got this letter, through the wait time I visit the doctor, she too stated in a letter regarding who it may concern. She believe I’m hurt and it will be my best regard or best interest  to do a x-ray. I don’t have money for that, So I took the letter again to office. She read it, did a photocopy and that was it. I decided to ask them base on their investigation how did they manage to come to such conclusions that  I was in the wrong. When we have no cameras, and  dude to the winter, plus negative weather not a cat or dog can be seen outside. So please send me a copy of the the investigation showing my wrong doing and your right doing. Every investigation have a paperwork, criminal or civil. Because at the end of the day if anyone need it, you can easy scan a copy or a mail copy. That too could not be provided. Instead I’m receiving from them, the copy of the accident report we made. So I took them to civil Court, which that case is currently open. Another problem again smh. while going through stress, unemployed, and pain, I’m dealing with the negative degree weather in my apartment. Which I’m paying x-cell energy 230 a month for heat. You will think my apartment was feeling like Liberia or Ghana, but rather Canada which is next door from North Dakota. I’m paying full rent, not a low income, WiFi, heat, and garage. I been complaining about the cold in my apartment, plus the high heat bills. Through the whole situation with the slip and fall body pains, and back pains I was also getting sick with deep cold. Coughing hard every day and night, coughing out things. Which I got a whole bottle to show. Every time a Gold-Mark employee come, they only touch the breakers, and go on their way. Nothing get change, move or replace. The same problem is still there after they leaves. Still sleeping in the fridge I call home, which I’m paying 230 plus  every month for energy bills smh. April I got real mad and frustrated but calm. Let me remind you base on what I been hearing and seeing, I had to protect myself just in case. I recorded every conversation I have or had have with them. In the state of North Dakota I don’t have to tell anyone I’m recording. April I went to the office again,  calm but frustrated, ask why my heating  situation was never solve and all winter I been paying massive heat bills. heat which I’m not feeling nor to say I’m using. She got irritated because I caught up to her games and she started giving me attitude. I told her I’m tire of her and her organization she works for. Your be so ready to see minority’s act out of character just to say “see that’s who they are”. I will raise my voice because it seems like you are never hearing me, or you pretending to. If you consider that as ghetto so let it be it, because I’m tire mentally and physically. The following week, I been seeing a lot of police present around here, watching my car and building. Another way of getting bully by rich wrong folks (policing). Another group of Gold Mark employees return back to my apartment to supposedly see what the problems was. which I got every conversation on voice recording that day of  the visit. They Check it out, only to find out I been right all winter. So I ask the Gold-Mark employees who visited that. am I supposed to just let this go, or what? Because this is wrong and illegal. You can’t treat your tenants like this. Specially not the tenants that paying rent on time. Like I said I love to protect my freedom and myself, so I recorded that conversation too. Late March morning I was  heading to my job interview. I notice right after I left my building heading  to my car, I notice another police presence at the office. While exiting the apartment complex, the cops notice my car heading that way, they took off like I was a suspect or being investigated about something. just from the feeling I was having that morning, being a black male in America, that feelings is very troubling. I couldn’t focus on my interview, I end up rescheduling it for 4pm that day. I got home and head to the office, because something was telling to go and see. Which I did, when I got there a letter was waiting for me for harassment, from the last conversation I had with her for the third time for my heating and bills situation. Still nothing have been fix or solve. Let me remind you, my girls stay with their mothers out of state. I don’t have kids living with me. I don’t cook everyday. I got one tv in the living room. my heat is not working. I’m using the stove for heat. your not fixing it and I am currently still paying 230 plus a month for heat. Not just that, Only to find out the breaker was never the problems. it was a  wiring problems. Now you giving me a infringement for being frustrated. So I went to the main office. Phone on recording expressing the same old problems, plus the wrongful infringement. While talking downstairs, the president of Gold-Mark came rushing downstairs, forcing me to leave the building and stating he have already call the police. Let me remind you, this guy and I never spoke. I was pleading my frustration again to two ladies at the front desk  of the main office of Gold mark Property building, Employers of Gold Mark).The two ladies and I was having a civil conversation about the matters. No fear or threats whatsoever but rather frustration. So I respectfully ask him why have you already call the cops on me. When you don’t know the matter, or do you? But whatsoever as a president when you walk downstairs you never ask what’s going on, or to even care as a parent. But you using force by calling the police to intimidate me. Sir please tell me what have I done wrong, I ask? I pay my bills on time, I respect your buildings, taking great care of the unit I’m renting, Im a tenant in your apartment , so what have I done wrong for you to call the cops on me? when I been and still the victim of your organization. Rich folks will be a rich folks, didn’t tell me, so I ask the same ladies from earlier for their names and ask them the same question, they too couldn’t say. Next day the very evenings  I was home, I heard no knock but rather a surprising  three days eviction notice  while leaving my apartment along with my girlfriend. Three days eviction notices, Claiming harassment, criminal activities ( let me remind you I worked, I got tax paper to prove 2021), and for disturbing the peace. Which all is absolutely false,  I’m getting evicted because I’m fighting for my right, for the rights of  those who have previously been in my situation with Gold-Mark management inc. also I’m being evicting for suing them for a slip and fall case, which is currently open. With another lawsuit for keeping me cold as a tenant throughout the  negative degree weather in Fargo North Dakota, while I’m paying full heat bills. I got every conversation on recording. From the photos of my injury, doctor notes, girlfriend walking on back just to have stability when I’m walking, Bottle of coughs coming out of my body all winter due to the cold and stubbornness of gold mark. So now I’m a criminal, I’m disturbing the peace( I stay to myself, work and home) and harassment?  because I’m tire of complaining and nothing getting done. I Will not leave, I will follow through with all lawsuits against them. This injustice treatment, inhumane behavior and attitude  from property managements need to stop. Without tenants they will not have any business, nor money to bully us, (middle class and below middle class working folks). This have nothing to do with color, race, religion or politics. It’s about getting tire of being bully, getting threaten of being kick out, from one comfort zone, private space, illegally. which one is by law and tenant contracts  paying fully amount on time. if not on time two months ahead.  Just because others are scare or frightened to fight back, I’m not. I have nowhere to go, not family, or friends but rather the street. I refuse to allow or give these same Folks the opportunity to lock me up, take away my freedom or worse, kill me.
