Chicago poets have worked hard to create diverse communities here. We want our institutions to reflect all that happens in this beautiful city. We need a community council of working poets to be an active part of decisions made by the Poetry Foundation. We need funding for local DIY literary projects and transparency on how to apply. I recommend funds be made available ASAP, similar to the model of Poets & Writers
https://www.pw.org/funding/funding_readingsworkshops.

The Poetry Foundation needs to open their massive purse and support the Chicago community and the poetry community instead of making a hollow 4 sentence statement. DO MORE.
