PETA have had a good run shutting down businesses that use animals as a source of income such as The Gippy Goat Cafe. In this specific case making threats towards the workers and owner driving them to close. The café's excess profits were sent to a local animal based charity from what I understand.

While I do agree that animal cruelty and testing need to stop PETA go above and beyond to make sure nobody profits from animals at all, even if they are well looked after. 

"PETA Blames Meat-Eaters For Amazon Fires" is the name of an article from September 2019. It's a funny little off the wall rant by them if you want to go check it out. (https://www.adnews.com.au/news/peta-blames-meat-eaters-for-the-amazon-fires Not to say that I disagree with the evidence that meat production is contributing to global warming. But they're blowing it out of proportion by saying what they are saying here.

PETA are also against pet ownership. So if you have a dog you're not making friends with them. Ingrid Newkirk has called pet ownership “an abysmal situation.” She further elaborated on her goal for destroying the human-pet bond: “If people want toys, they should buy inanimate objects. If they want companionship, they should seek it with their own kind.” they have gone as far as calling the police reporting pet owners are mistreating their animals to try to solve this 'problem'. 

If this petition gets nowhere then so be it. But if it at least gets some people searching about PETA and digging for answers then I'll be happy. I'm also open to solid evidence/corrections with sources.
