Stop polar bears starving by replacing sea ice with plastic

I have been sitting watching television like many of you over this festive period. There have been many programmes and adverts about starving polar bears because of the melting polar ice, I find this totally heart wrenching and I wish I had the power to stop this from happening. I appreciate all the research polar bear and wildlife organisations do and I have donated money on a regular basis but I still feel frustrated.
Then it dawned on me, a possible solution!
There are probably scientific reasons why it might not work, I can’t think of any except smell and texture and of course the cost involved but I feel the solution will solve a number of issues facing the world today.
Plastic, we as a world have tons of the stuff, it pollutes our seas, our towns, our countryside and fills our landfills never to disintegrate in our lifetime. I think it’s fabulous when it can be repurposed and recycled to make new things like roads because of it’s hard wearing attributes.
So why not create ice flows and islands out of plastic?
If every nation in the world contributed some of their plastic and invested some money into the project and we found a manufacturer big enough to create the solid mammoth ice flows I’m sure it could be achieved.
Not only would it replace the lost habitats of the polar bear but the chains and weights anchoring the flows down would also create more artificial habitats for marine life.
I hope one day we can save all our wildlife and stop polluting our world.
Thank you for your time and signature.
