Marine plastic pollution has affected 100% of marine turtles, 59% of whales, 36% of seals and 40% of seabirds of those examined.

700 species of marine animals are in danger of extinction due to plastic. Over 1 million seabirds and 100,000 marine mammals are killed by ocean plastic every year. The population of tuna has declined by 74% since 1970, and 1 in 4 shark species is threatened with extinction. Over 90% of all seabirds and 100% of baby sea turtles have plastic in their stomachs.
