The Tasmanian devil, a species of marsupials living off the coast of Australia, is in danger of becoming extinct forever. This is due to a disease known as Devil Facial Tumor Disease (DFTD). It is contagious, spreading from one infected devil to another often when biting each other during fights. The disease has already wiped out over 80% of the Tasmanian devil population, and only continues to spread.

We can't afford to lose another endangered species, especially one like the Tasmanian devil, which poses multiple benefits to the environment. Tasmanian devils are scavengers and keep their environment clean just by eating the remains of other dead animals. They also help to balance populations of other animals like wallabies and rodents, which they prey upon.

There are many ways for you to help, such as participating in World Wildlife Fund's Adopt a Tasmanian Devil Program. You can also donate to "Help Save the Tasmanian Devil" by Conservation Volunteers Australia on globalgiving.org.
