Tobacco farming utilizes massive amounts of child labor, keeping kids out of school and perpetuating the cycle of poverty.

I strongly believe the evidence indicating child labor in tobacco agriculture, as well as the depletion caused by tobacco as a crop. I support this movement to improve the lives of these children. I also believe that the harms caused to the environment must be noted to then change to alternate crops. Tobacco is only a menace and we must phase it out.

Giving voice to the silenced tobacco
smallholders and workers can help creating a counter-image to tobacco industry's marketing and greenwashing
campaigns. Make the workers' plight the World No Tobacco Day 2012 theme.

The Tobacco Company is denying the staple food -Rice - for the people in Sri Lanka. The Tobacco Company is getting the rice farmers cultivate Tobacco instead of rice in their traditional rice fields . Tobacco is therefore more than a health issue.

We should put a stop to the exploitation of workers and the environment by for-profit corporations everywhere. I hope this campaign will shine a light on the ways in which greed trumps compassion for the tobacco industry and will also lead to a greater focus on similar exploitative practices in other industries.
