10% of all people suffering from diabetes are type 1. People that suffer from type 1 diabetes are insulin-dependent and their quality of life depends on the balance between sugar intake and insulin administration. Fo the past decades this balance has been a struggle. xDrip and other applications made it easier for these patients to maintain this balance, and thus keep better control of their disease. Resulting in a better quality of life and better overall control of their disease and thus a lower complication rate and lower costs.

xDrip is working perfectly with the Dexcom X5 sensor. Dexcom however, developed a new sensor that doesn't interact well with the xDrip software. As a result, diabetics who found the balance between insulin and sugar intake are again struggling to find this balance.

To ensure type 1 diabetics to maintain control and thus have a better quality of life, it is essential to allow them to have access to the X5 sensor or to allow them to integrate the data from the x6 sensor into the xDrip software.
