They have them all over Europe; ornate and beautiful ossuaries that celebrate humanity and act as memento mori's using the skeletal remains of victims of past plagues. From Milan to Kutná Hora to Évora, these churches provide stunning reminders that death will come to us all.

And they're resourceful - as cemeteries began to overflow due to death and famine, they required a new way to dispose of the dead. What better way than to turn them to art?

North America lacks these incredible and humbling places of worship. Why? We simply lack the history. Sure, there was the Spanish Flu - but due to oversight, the bodies were buried.

As government ineptitude is beginning to illuminate the severity of the crisis to come, it's only a matter of time before funeral homes are overwhelmed. Why not get ahead of the curve and start one now? I propose we pre-emptively build an ossuary to contain the dead in the event that the inept government isn't able to address this problem correctly leading to an uncontrollable spread of the disease and more fatalities to come.

Bring the beauty and splendour of European ossuaries to North America to celebrate humanity and provide a place for the increasing fatalities of the coronavirus.
