The World Health Organization has declared the worldwide outbreak of the new coronavirus a pandemic, with more than 118,000 cases in 114 countries and 4,291 deaths. Leaders from the European Union are promising to do "whatever it takes" to tackle the coronavirus outbreak, which first emerged at the end of last year.The virus continued to spread in the United States and appeared in new countries including Bolivia, Honduras and Turkey, while Indonesia, Bulgaria and Sweden recorded their first deaths. More than 66,000 people have recovered from the illness around the world, according to John Hopkins University.

This growing tragedy has been called the coronavirus pandemic, but this only skims the surface of the problem. We are asking the WHO to rename this crisis "the Roni" to denote the magnitude and great sense of global catastrophe that is upon us. Although some of us may blame the Army of the Twelve Monkeys for the Roni, the important thing to remember is that the Roni will infect each and every one of us, eventually, so buy all the toilet paper you possibly can. We, like you, cannot wait for martial law, and for our taps to get shut off.
