Smoking is one of the main causes of death in the Philippines. Some diseases or complication in the body that it causes includes lung cancer, heart diseases and stroke. According to the Department of Health, ten Filipinos die hourly because of continuous tobacco consumption. On the other hand, according to Philippine Statistics Authority, 17.3 million Filipino adults age 15 years and older are already using tobacco.
In relation to this, we, the petitioners, want to raise awareness to the audience about the possible effects of smoking. This will help everyone, specifically the teenagers, not to attempt themselves from consuming even one cigarette.
