Lauren Moses started this petition to Worcester County Public School Students

Our county dress code (Snow Hill High School, Stephen Decatur High School, and Pocomoke High School), along with many across the country, promotes the objectification of the female body. Said dress codes also disproportionately affect girls and people of color. As stated in our student handbook, we as a community possess the ability to “review” the dress code “periodically”. Through this petition we hope to reestablish our dress code to combat the sexualization and objectification of all students in the community. A dress code should promote a learning environment that protects all students no matter their race, skin color, ethnicity, nationality, sexuality, religion, gender identity/gender expression, culture, ancestry, disability, age, economic status, and other diverse backgrounds.
