Stop the use of plastic bags in supermarkets & implement a more environmental policy

Did you know that the plastic bag you use at Woolworths and Coles is used on average for only 12 minutes yet may outlive you and I?
Plastic bags are made from ethylene, a gas that is produced as a by-product of oil, gas and coal production and Australians use in excess of 6 billion plastic bags per year. They sadly end up in landfill and can take anywhere between 20-1000 years to break down. Why are you still using them?
We can't sit around any longer in 2017 and hope that someone will do something, we are shouting loud and clear to Coles and Woolworths who have a public and environmental responsibility to follow other countries polices and either charge a fee for a thinker reusable bag (think ALDI) or switch to a more sustainable material.
Imagine if this petition went viral and everyone stood together became the deciding factor of change for Australia. Imagine what that would do for our future waterways, soil quality and wildlife.
