Refuse using plastic bags

If we stop using plastic bags at major supermarkets like: Woolworths and Coles, we are supporting the safety of animal's habitats. Due to the influx of plastic bags being used over a long period of time, animals habitats are becoming unsafe for them to live in and survive. If we all refuse to use plastic bags then we are saving animal's habitats and essentially their lives too! If we stop using plastic bags then there will be no need for the company to keep producing them. Many animals particularly: Marine Life and Local Native Animals that are living in suburban areas, are suffering the consequences of our actions.
If we don't use plastic bags we are saying no to animal cruelty.
We are trying to raise awareness so that with your support we can; become closer to "Banning the Bag", but until then recycle your used plastic bags at your local Coles or Woolworths store and use eco-friendly bags as an alternative to help save the environment that surrounds us and the animals that live there.
By signing this petition to say that you agree with banning the bag, we become one step closer to making this a reality. We hope to raise awareness about the affects that "the plastic bag" has on our environment through our petition.
Statistics show that:
. If each Australian family used 1 less plastic bag each week that would be 253 million bags less a year.
. Australia alone uses 6.9 billion plastic bags a year of which 3.6 billion are plastic shopping bags.
. It costs the Australian government in excess of $4 million to clean up plastic bag litter each year. - So it would be in the governments interest to ban as
. One plastic bag can kill numerous animals as they take so long to disintegrate. An animal that dies from the bag will decompose and the bag will be released, another animal could harmlessly fall victim and once again eat the same bag. This is unacceptable and we need to put a stop to this immediately.
If you believe that animals should be safe in their own environment. Refuse using plastic bags and as an alternative; next time you go shopping use eco-friendly shopping bags available at the checkout. Promote a better future for these defenseless animals. It's up to us to speak out for them and make a difference, please sign our petition to: Ban the plastic bag!
