Pay more for milk, support Aussie farmers
Jim Watts 3rd generation dairy farmer( my uncle) may have to walk away from his land and cattle like many other dairy farmers in Australia . Milk prices need to increase to provide income for dairy farms to continue supplying milk in our stores and to our homes.
Jimmy Watts manages a property at Killarney stationed just meters from the boarder or NSW. The property has been in the family for 3 generations but after a tough decade he may be forced to give it away. Years of drought has depleted water supply, the ramped mice plague has driven the cost of grain skyrocketing. The price of milk hasn’t kept up with the increase in price of general living. The cost of running a business keeps going up so the product price increases NOT MILK! WHY?
Inevitably the retail prices of milk need to increase to sustain the higher prices. $1-$1.20 a litre is not enough and will not sustain its self into the future.
If nothing changes we will lose another Australian leading industry of milk.
