Everyone knows and understands the concept of trash and recycling, companies are legally bound to have a way to get rid of their waste especially due to the fact that they are producing so much more than a household does. Despite the amount of research proving how necessary composting is for our future to be sustainable., there is no push for the food waste to be separated and composted here in Isla Vista. Many of the restaurants in Isla Vista have compostable products like to-go containers or cutlery, however there is no place for students or employees to throw away any of these products and instead they go in the trash or the recycling where they do not belong and do more harm than good..

Woodstocks Pizza here in Isla Vista is one of the most popular and influential restaurants in town, there is even one on campus for students to easily grab a bite to eat during their breaks. Considering how popular and busy Woodstocks is, I find it fair to assume that they must produce a lot of food waste that is just being thrown away in the landfills where it cannot properly decompose. I personally feel that all of the restaurants in Isla Vista should be forced to compost alongside recycling and garbage, however, Woodstocks would be the perfect start of the snowball. They are an influential company that so many students and members of the community know and love, this would boost their ratings with the community in the sense that UCSB's students are already pushing each other to take composting seriously and having a restaurant join the movement would make them that much more loved and respected. Also, considering the size of Woodstocks Pizza, they are one of the few places in Isla Vista that has the space for a composting system that could then be easily implemented into their staff's routines alongside taking out the trash and learning what is compostable and not.

This may seem like a lot to ask of Woodstocks Pizza, but I truly believe they are the company to pave the way for more composting practices within the restaurants in Isla Vista and that this could be a beneficial move not just for the environment, but for Woodstocks' reputation as well.
